Glenties
Glenties Heritage Museum is situated at the entry to the Hostel and gives hours viewing of the numerous exhibits from the past relating to the local area.
Fishing
The Owenea River passes through the Village and is renowned for its salmon and sea trout. Fishing also on the numerous local lakes for brown trout and rainbow trout.
Golf
There is a magnificent 18 hole
Golf Links at Portnoo (10km) and also
a Pitch and Putt course at Sandfield.
Beaches
There is a Blue Flag Beach at Portnoo and other nice beaches at Rosbeg and Maghery.
Music
Glenties is famous as a centre for Traditional Irish Music and the Fiddlers Weekend the first weekend in October is known world-wide. There are also organised and spontaneous music sessions in the local pubs throughout the season.
